Abilities
Purify
Start of each round. Removes one status (Hexed, Held, Weakened, Burning, Marked or Poisoned), with all its stacks, from the living friend carrying the most statuses, itself included.
Strike
Main attack, melee. Deals its power as physical damage to the front enemy.
Also on: Berserker, Cutpurse, Grove Warden, Guildmaster, Martyr, Peddler, Sellsword, Shieldbearer, Skullsplitter, Squire, Thornweaver, Warchief, Wildheart
Mend
End of each round. Heals the friend with the lowest health (below max) by its power.
Also on: Acolyte, Bard, Minstrel, Moneylender, Oracle, Thornweaver
Lay on Hands
Reaction. The first time a friend (not itself) dies, that friend comes back with half its max health. Once per battle.
How to use Paladin
Best position: front or middle.
Purify removes a status each round from the ally carrying the most, so poison, hexes and burns are much less threatening.
It has armor and an attack from level 1, so it can sit near the front without being a passenger.
Lay on Hands at level 3 revives the first ally to die at half health, once per battle. In close fights, that extra body often wins it.
Good teammates
-
Sellsword
Reviving a hard hitter is worth far more than reviving a support.
-
Wildheart
A big health pool means a big revive at half health.
