Smoke Screen
Start of battle. For the first 2 rounds, all ranged attacks against its team are blocked. Once per battle.
How to use Illusionist
Best position: middle or back.
Hold stops the front enemy's first attack, and Retreat blocks the first hit that would hurt Illusionist itself.
Smoke Screen shuts out all ranged attacks on your team for the first 2 rounds. That is a big swing against casters and archers.
It has no main attack at any level, so you need damage elsewhere in the lineup.
Good teammates
-
Archmage
Smoke Screen buys rounds in which Arcane Surge can grow.
-
Crusader
A sturdy front line handles melee while Smoke Screen handles ranged.
Tier by stage of the run
